Due to repeated requests, you will find information about an operation at the Vienna Private Clinic here.
Below you will also find a selection of the most frequently asked medical questions that I regularly receive by email or telephone:
Yes, it is possible to be operated on in the Vienna Private Clinic with statutory insurance. Part of the costs are covered by health insurance. CoSARS tests are carried out before the operation. An agreed surgery date is always kept. Get an overview or ask us. We can help you.
This is possible. The acute traumatology service at the Vienna Private Clinic is available 24 hours a day on 01 40180.
We organize the further course of treatment and are there for you.
Talk to the attending doctors on site, they will help you to obtain the necessary documents.
Contacting the doctor you trust will speed up this process and ensure your continued treatment.
There is usually a change in the menisci and cartilage. The increase in the so-called “effusion” in the knee usually leads to pain and restricted movement. Further diagnostics are indicated.
If you also have a fever and pain, you should see a doctor as soon as possible!
Unfortunately, the rate of late or even never-recognized cruciate ligament injuries is high. There is often a feeling of insecurity after weeks or months, which is not taken seriously and suddenly an acute event occurs without any external cause. The rule here is - rapid diagnosis - rapid treatment - this helps to repair the damage, prevent consequential damage and keep late damage to a minimum.
Travel insurance companies, health insurance companies and your insurance advisor are the contacts to clarify repatriation options in the event of an emergency. The insurance company will then arrange the transfer with us and they will organize your return transport after we have reserved a bed for you.
Recurrent shoulder pain in particular has often already been treated. Treatment is often started without prior clarification by means of X-ray, MR or CT. This treatment has a short-term effect, but the symptoms return.
In such a case, precise clarification is required. This is best done with an MRI scan, which usually reveals tendon damage that needs to be repaired.
Action is needed here! An unstable shoulder can be stabilized 88% of the time. If this is not successful, a tendon problem is the most common consequential damage. This must be prevented.
The so-called “frozen shoulder” is a common clinical picture. A special treatment plan is necessary to restore movement. A phase of pain can often be detected before the shoulder stiffens.
An exact diagnosis is important here. Not all shoulder fractures are the same! It is true that some types of fracture can be treated conservatively, i.e. without surgery, but an exact analysis of the type of fracture using CT and sometimes also MRI is a prerequisite for making a decision.
Get your documents together and come and see us! A detailed analysis of the operations performed and often an additional ultrasound examination, which you can have carried out at Dr. Schwarz's surgery, will provide initial clarity as to the possible cause.
